Ehen, my people, sorry for my rumpled appearance, I was out digging. Yes o! Digging. I have been digging. A new week has begun, and I know you will be disappointed if I do not bring something new, so ........ Here goes:

Six guys are on probation, SIX!!!!
The judges have tightened their belts, and so have ... the contestants. Well, some of them, apparently., else why would six be on probation?
The somewhat shocking exit of the pure voiced Jennifer, and the powerful-voiced Deborah mus have been a rude wake up call of sorts, and the contestants were not too happy. It should have dawned. On them by now that this is a competition, and yet, some of them are on probation.

Let's take a look at them:

Chike: the handsome Computer Engineer who said he had a bag full of Igbo quips and quotations will need more than a couple of witty anecdotes in his native language if he is to exceed his performance of Aloe Blacc's I'm the man., which, according to the judges, was below par. Add to that his rehearsal for their group song, and his own song for the week, which by the way, is a Naija song. More details later on that.

Tejiri: the curvaceous engineer needs to do some serious work on her vocal and performance skills if she is to stay on in the competition, because her performance of Whitney Houston's All at once was not impressive enough for the judges. This underperformance is supposedly strange to the singer, who reportedly made a first class in university. She must be used to excelling in all she does, but will she be able to bounce back from being placed on probation TWICE? She will have to re-engineer herself , but then, she Is an engineer, so we hope she can.

Deinde: The #IbinuNation dude was shocked to his marrow when his performance of KCi and Jojo's Crazy was judged to be below standard by the judges. Yet his drama hasn't been toned down. The bearded vocalist is still his bouncy exuberant self, perhaps only a tad sobered by the posibility of his impending exit. Will he impress the judges by the weekend? Or will the song just be too crazy for him? Please keep watching project fame to find out.

Richie: the Ghanaian guitarist has become something of a 'customer' in this probation ring, having entered for the second time alongside fellow Academy housemate Tejiri, for his cover of Joe's No One Else . The boys saved him unanimously last time, will they do so again, now that the stakes are different? Three boys are on probation now, and it is bound to upset the balance of the voting contestants. But then, he could pull back, and render a flawless performance of Joe's No One Else Comes Close. Who knows? Only time will tell.

Ruby: this velvety-voiced vocalist( yeah, V is like that) failed to impress the judges with her rendition of Celine Dion's All by myself. Perhaps, having entered through the wildcard, she may not be (mentally) fully cognizant of the fact that it is not just a reality show, but a competition. Will she brace up after this rude awakening, or will the strain prove too hard for her?

Oluchi: this is a (not totally) surprising twist to the tale, as the two wildcard contestants are on probation. Evidently she did not perform her cover of Nikki Minaj's Pills and Potions well enough. Or has the competitive spirit not fully descended on this NYSC corps member? What ever pills and potions she needs to take, at least in her mind, she will have to really put herself together, if she wants to remain in the academy.

The contestants: Chike, Tejiri, Deinde, Richie, Ruby, Oluchi.
Who will the judges save?
Who will the viewers save?
Who will the contestants save?

Who will bid farewell to dreams of Project Fame success?
Surely, much remains to be seen. Please watch this space.
Thank you.
